Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

BillyGo LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates the BillyGo mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

2. Data We Collect

Data you provide:

  • Route permit photos and instructions you upload
  • Route confirmations and manual adjustments you make
  • Account information (Apple ID used for sign-in)

Data collected automatically:

  • Device identifier (for route storage and subscription management)
  • Route processing interactions (which steps were confirmed, adjusted, or flagged)
  • Subscription information (subscription status, product type, and expiration date)
  • App usage data (feature usage, errors, performance metrics)

Location data:

  • Your device's GPS location is used by the Mapbox Navigation SDK to provide turn-by-turn directions. This location data is processed on your device and is not recorded or transmitted to BillyGo servers.
  • Route waypoint coordinates (road intersection locations from your permit and our database) are stored on our servers as part of your saved routes. These are geographic positions of road intersections, not your personal location.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Route processing: Converting permit instructions into GPS-navigable routes
  • Route storage: Saving your processed routes so you can access them later
  • Service improvement: Analyzing route processing accuracy to improve intersection matching and navigation quality
  • Subscription management: Verifying your subscription status
  • Legal compliance: Maintaining route records for liability defense and regulatory compliance
  • Support: Diagnosing issues when you contact us

4. Data Storage & Security

Route data is stored on Supabase (cloud infrastructure) with row-level security. Only you can access your own routes unless you explicitly share them via share codes. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not track your real-time location outside of active navigation, and your GPS position is never sent to BillyGo servers
  • We do not sell or share your data with third-party advertisers
  • We do not collect contacts, personal photos, or other personal files unrelated to your route permits
  • We do not use advertising identifiers or track you across other apps or websites

6. Third-Party Services

BillyGo uses the following third-party services:

  • Mapbox: Map display and turn-by-turn navigation. Your device's GPS location is shared with Mapbox during active navigation. Subject to Mapbox's Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase: Cloud database for route storage. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple for authentication, StoreKit for subscriptions. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention & Account Deletion

Your route data is retained as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account (available in the app under Settings), the following occurs:

  • Deleted immediately: Your email address, user ID, Apple Sign In credentials, subscription records, and all links between your identity and your routes.
  • Retained in anonymized form: Route data (waypoint coordinates, road names, route decisions) and permit photos are retained with all personal identifiers removed. This anonymized data cannot be linked back to you.

Why we retain anonymized route data and photos:

  • Liability defense in the event of accidents or disputes involving permitted routes
  • Compliance with transportation recordkeeping obligations
  • Improving route processing accuracy and safety for all users

This anonymized data qualifies as deidentified data under applicable privacy law and cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

If you delete a route from within the app, it is removed from your device and marked as deleted on our servers.

8. Your Rights

You may:

  • Delete individual routes from within the app
  • Delete your account from within the app (Settings > Delete Account)
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

9. Children's Privacy

BillyGo is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
